Hard to believe that I am all ready going into tonight shoot and it’s the 4th week of the league. My league partner and all around good buddy Tony is a world Class archer with a hunting rig, I mean like 292-294 out of 300 with 15 or more X’s now that is shooting!

One thing about shooting with someone like that is you will get eaten up with loss of confidence if you let his it x-marks take hold of you,  or you use the other every week I will pick out a training tool. Focus on the goal for that week and roll with it. You can never run out of practice/training items to work on. Too many thing to list them all but if you pick a few (grip, peep alignment, back tension, surprise release) and do one each week 30 targets into it you may not see you score jump up into the 290’s that night.

But for me it’s training for the fall! Getting the most out of you and your time! Give yourself the upper hand to have 100% confidence in yourself when that huge 190” whitetail mega giant walks bye. Will you have that confidence? I know I will, but it is a result of not just shooting every week but training for that shot of a lifetime!

Back and have a had a day to rest, get back to work and reflect on the Show.  If you like hunting like I do you will love this show, new gear, old gear made even better now! It’s not a stone-age show by any means.  Not sure how to even start because some many items caught my eye.

Sitka Gear enough said right, wrong the gear with the Optifade is unreal and a must have to the hunting junkie.  I had the pleasure of spending two days with most of the guys and it was awesome to get some insight about the gear and meeting such top notch people!

Speaking of great people I got the pleasure of meeting many like Matt Huges UFC and Tim Syliva MMA fighters and seeing my friend Missy from elite archery behind the horns of a 242″ Ohio monster.

I also got a huge surprise meeting Joel Harris who is on the Sitka Gear staff which at the time I did not even know,  after meeting Joel I just want to thank Sitka for only picking the best of the best to represent the sport of hunting and Sitka!

Ok  back to some gear!

Elite archery in their 3rd year now had an impact it seemed like. The both was busy all day! Great shooting fast as lighting bows! Couple pics of me shooting the GTO500

Game Plan Gear has  one of the best bow case’s I have ever seen and new pack called the cameraman for you guys like me that film, it is perfect for your wires, tapes, batteries, and everything else and of course your camera.

Pearson Archery the new TX-4 is the bow it is $$$ just awesome is all that I will say.

Seen a new broad-head call Reign which was pretty wild the blade is off set from the tip and swivels to the opposite side that it hits bone.

X-factor lifetime lasting string and limb dampers, the guy was trying to break them right in front of me and could not do it. 60% lighter as well

Those are my thoughts on some of the best and eye catching items at the show.  Crazy great times had by all a this year ATA!

Well I know it’s Thursday and I am a day late..lol but I do have to work.  I just spent the last couple hours running around and ready to get down to Indy.

From packing to getting on the computer and looking up map quest, I have done it all today.

The playground for bowhunters!! the ATA show! So many cool things about the show.  Seeing the new gear for the year is just a dream, making a wish list now for your fall season.  Another big thing is seeing friends that for only 3 days are all in one spot at one time.

Plus the chance just like the one I have this year to make all kinds of new friends Sitka brothers and sisters I can’t wait and can’t wait to meet all of you that are there! Well I am out of here see next week!

Today is the last day of the MI season and pretty much the same all over the Mid-west, with a couple states still having another week or two but for me it’s over tags a filled and it’s back to reality!

It’s new years day and I am off to my local archery shop.  My wife asked “are you tried yet.?”…Nope I am ready to shoot a round of 3-D! Plus I wanted to jump right back into training/practice shoot a couple of the new bows that have made there way into the shop so far.

What you work on now is key to your confidence deep into the season.  I sort of live by that last day of the season is the first day for next year type of thinking.

It felt really good to get out there and work on some of the things you leave behind during hunitng season in a rush between stands trying to fling a half dozen arrows.

30 targets a couple X-marks not a bad way to start the new year! Set your goals now! Good luck and happy new year!
