While in Florida for the holidays with the family, I got the chance to spend a day hog hunting with a new friend. This hog was taken at about 17yds. or so(never paced it) after a slow, careful stalk……

Myself and Don, my host……

One that I caught, maybe 5 pounds at the most….

A few I got close enough to, but the one I wanted never did offer the right shot…..

My Sitka Optifade once again came thru with flying colors!
Both in versatility in the changing temps, and keeping me invisible, sometimes in plain site.

In the next few days I’ll be heading off to hunt with another friend for a few days. Hope to have more pix and stories after that hunt as well.

Happy New year!

Then it’s time to head north to cold, snowy N.Y…..

We had such a warm season here in NY that I didn’t get a chance to use my new Kelvin jacket till early December.

The weekend I got the chance to use it, both Saturday and Sunday were single digits and around zero wind chill!

I was blown away at how such a light, easy to wear layer could me so warm. Very impressive!

The outer fabric is very lightweight nylon and that might scare some potential buyers away thinking it’s not quiet enough for hunting. But if used for the purpose that it was designed, wearing as an underlayer, it’s just fine. The nylon also makes it very easy for the outer jacket to slide on over it, and very easy to draw a bow.

It’s a very impressive, well designed, extremely warm cold weather layer that I highly recommend for anyone that has trouble fighting off the cold during late season hunts!

Try it, you’ll be glad you did!
