Matt Palmquist

Matt is a lifelong resident of the great state of Kansas. He grew up in central Kansas near Lindsborg, and became an avid upland bird and waterfowl hunter from a young age. Matt started archery hunting in 1998 after being exposed to the sport by several close friends. Since that first season he has exclusively archery hunted big game, with success on Whitetail Deer, Mule Deer, Antelope and Wild Turkey.
Now residing in northwest Kansas with his wife Jerri, Matt works as a District Conservationist for the Natural Resources Conservation Service. Jerri has also started bow hunting in the last two seasons and has successfully taken both turkey and whitetail deer. Needless to say, archery has become a year round obsession in their household.
Matt has recently been elected as the Northwest Representative for the Kansas Bowhunter’s Association. He prides himself on being an ethical hunter and being an active member in conservation organizations, including the KBA and the Pope and Young Club.
Since 2006, Matt has eight Pope and Young entries from three different species, including two mule deer that rank top 5 all-time in the Kansas archery non-typical category. His successes have led him to pursue, and accomplish, his goal of being featured in several outdoor publications including Bow and Arrow Hunting, and Eastmans’ Bowhunting Journal. Matt feels privileged to be a Prostaff team member for Montana Decoy, Spot Hogg Archery, and Sitka Gear.
